Welcome to Midwestern University - Glendale!
Midwestern University is an unique institution in with two campuses - Downers Grove, IL and Glendale, AZ - and having a focus on health care professions.
The Glendale, Arizona campus, founded in 1995, houses the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (1994), the College of Health Sciences (1996)and the College of Pharmacy -Glendale (1998). Today the Glendale campus has 17 buildings that provide for academic classrooms, state-of-the art laboratories, student housing, and an on-campus osteopathic clinic.
Midwestern University is situated 15-minutes from Phoenix. The greater Phoenix area and the Valley offer venues for pro sports, concerts and the fine arts. If the outdoors suits you, climb the rugged Matazal and Maricopa Mountains or travel two hours north to Flagstaff for skiing. |

If you like hands-on learning in the sciences and are looking for a team-oriented, interdisciplinary experiences in the art of patient care, Midwestern University is the place for you.
The Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM) offer preceptor exposure in the first year. This allows our medical students to shadow physicians in their practices as well as hospitals. In the past five years, 98% of AZCOM students pass the COMLEX Part 1 exam the first time. This exceeds the national average by more that five percent.
The College of Pharmacy - Glendale (CPG) is an innovative three year program. Pharmacy students begin shadowing practicing pharmacists in their first year. Rotations are intergrated throughout the three years and opportunities exist for students to do rotations overseas. More than 95% of CPG students pass the NAPLEX exam the first time which surpasses the national average.
The College of Health Sciences (CHS) houses the Physician Assistant Program, Occupational Therapy Program, Cardiovascular Science, Biomedical Sciences and graduate programs (Bioethics, Health Professions Education and Masters in Biomedical Sciences). The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (BBS) program allows students two complete their last two years of their undergraduate degree while broadening your knowledge of health care. In 2001, all graduates of the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences Program who applied were accepted into graduate or professional school. |
