ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

More than 100 countries are represented in UConn’s international student population. Prospective international students should begin UConn application procedures one year before intended matriculation. Please review the International Student Fact Sheet for detailed information on applying to UConn.

Applicants should be academically, linguistically and financially prepared for study at the University of Connecticut. Domestic and international students complete the same UConn application for enrollment.

International students are selected for admission based on a review of their academic success in their previous education and scores achieved on the SAT and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

All international applicants whose first language is not English must submit official TOEFL and/or IELTS scores. The TOEFL can also be a valuable supplement to the application for enrollment for those for whom English has not been their primary language.

Financial aid, including scholarships and loans, is not available to undergraduate international students. Upon admission to UConn, international students must provide a financial statement verifying the student’s ability to cover all expenses prior to receiving an I-20 form.
