Transfer applicants are accepted: yes

APPLICATION AND CREDIT TRANSFER

Minimum number of credits applicant needs to apply as a transfer student: 28
Items required of transfer students to apply for admission:
  • high school transcript recommended of some
  • college transcript(s) required of all
  • essay or personal statement not required
  • interview not required
  • standardized test scores recommended of some
  • statement(s) of good standing from prior institution(s) recommended of some
Minimum high school GPA required for transfer applicants: 2.00 using a 4.0 scale
Minimum college GPA required for transfer applicants: 2.00 using a 4.0 scale
Priority filing date for transfer applicants: April 15 for fall
Closing date for transfer applicants: August 1 for fall, rolling for spring
Notification date for transfer applicants: within 10 days of receipt of application for fall, within 10 days of receipt of application for spring
Lowest course grade that may be transferred for credit: C
Minimum number of credits that must be earned at school: 30 to receive a bachelor's degree

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Transfer Applicants
Transfer applicants may transfer appropriate courses from regionally accredited institutions to LeMoyne-Owen College if the grade received was "C" or better. However, to receive transfer credit, official transcripts from the previous institution(s) must be received before a student begins classes at LeMoyne-Owen. Credits that are more than ten years old will be reviewed to determine if they are transferable.

Transfer applicants must submit the following:
· Application for admission
· $25 non-refundable application fee
· Official college transcripts from any higher education institution previously attended
· Must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
· Immunization Record (MMR)

Applicants lacking the required 2.0 cumulative GPA may still apply for admission. These applicants must submit a written statement concerning their unsatisfactory academic record along with their completed application.

If you have attempted fewer than 28 credit hours, then you must submit:
· High school transcript or equivalent (if fewer than 28 credit hours attempted)
· SAT or ACT test score (If under age 21)
